Tourism Vancouver Island’s top publication for outdoor enthusiasts was created to be a resource for visitors with interests in specific activities. Engaging editorial and high-energy imagery highlights the region’s best outdoor activities: hiking, kayaking, cycling, boating, sailing, mountain biking, caving, diving, horseback riding, canoeing, rafting, climbing, surfing, and more. Everything visitors need to book their outdoor activity vacations is right there at their fingertips, supplemented by cross-references to Tourism Vancouver Island’s comprehensive website.
The Outdoor Guide is promoted through Tourism Vancouver Island’s media and travel trade department, on the Tourism Vancouver Island website, at retail outlets, and at consume shows. New this year, the Outdoor Guide is going virtual! The 2008 issue will be on-line for viewing the fun, quick, and “green” way. Advertisers in the guide will have on-line links to their websites. Plus, the on-line activity for the virtual guide is very easily tracked.
The 75,000 copies of the printed guides are distributed at consumer shows in Alberta, Ontario, Arizona, California, Oregon, Washington, Florida, and Texas. The guide is also displayed for pick up at Visitor Centres, BCAA and AAA offices, and select outdoor adventure retail outlets and is mailed to all potential visitors inquiring about outdoor activities in the Vancouver Island region.
Through Tourism BC’s partnership program, Tourism Vancouver Island stakeholders access reduced rates to participate in this and other marketing opportunities coordinated by Tourism Vancouver Island.
